The body of Jesus is taken from the cross. It is placed in the arms of the mother who bore him into the world. The mother who said ‘Yes’ to God. The mother who received the amazing gift of divine favor. She brought Emmanuel into the world in the most surprising of ways. We see at this moment her grief, her loss, her love.
