It is almost evening on Friday, which means the Sabbath is about to start. They quickly place the body of Jesus in a tomb. It is laid there for good, though he told his disciples that he would return. They did not believe him or else they would've been there. He is laid in the tomb. His followers think all is lost. All they have left is to honor their leader. All they have left is to honor their friend. Christ will stay buried. He will then descend deeper. He will experience the fullness of death. He will do all this for us.
