Jesus meets his grieving mother

Jesus had friends. Jesus had a family. They experienced his death in a unique way. His mother, Mary, experienced his death and suffering in a unique way. He didn't avoid her. I can imagine even Mary trying him to convince him to not go through with it. She might have tried to convince him to use his powers to save himself as she convinced him to use his powers to turn water into wine at the Wedding at Cana. Jesus stood with her. He shared a moment with her. And yet, still, he took the road to the cross for us.
