Holy Conversations is Bee Creek United Methodist’s season of prayer, listening, and discernment as we seek God’s direction for our future together.
Grounded in our “We believe” values, Holy Conversations invites every person in our church to reflect, ask questions, share ideas, and listen for where God is already at work among us. Through worship, conversation, prayer, and personal reflection, we will explore who we are, who our neighbors are, and who God is calling us to become.
This is not about creating a strategic plan as much as it is discovering God’s invitation for Bee Creek. Together, we trust that prayer opens us to God’s imagination and that the Holy Spirit continues to guide our church into new opportunities for ministry, community, and service.
Whether you’ve been part of Bee Creek for many years or you’re just beginning your journey with us, your voice matters. We invite you to join the conversation as we listen for God’s call and discover our shared future.

We believe God is still at work among us.
We begin by listening.
In a world that often moves quickly toward answers, this is an invitation to slow down—to pay attention, to reflect, and to listen for what God is doing in us, around us, and through us.
Over the years, certain beliefs have shaped the life of Bee Creek United Methodist Church. They have guided our worship, our friendships, our service, and our understanding of who God is calling us to be.
As we enter this season of Holy Conversations, we return to these beliefs—not as conclusions, but as starting points.
This is not a process of finding the right words as much as it is a process of discovering what is already true—what has been forming, growing, and taking root in our life together.
Like a garden, much of this work happens beneath the surface. With care, attention, and patience, something begins to emerge.
Through prayer, conversation, and shared reflection, we seek to better understand who we are, who our neighbors are, and who God is calling us to become.
- There is space here for your voice.

And so we listen—together.
We believe God is love.
At the heart of our faith is a simple and profound truth: God is love.
Not merely loving, but love itself. God’s love is the source of creation, the example we see in Jesus Christ, and the Spirit that continues to guide us today.
This love is patient and generous. It welcomes, forgives, restores, and makes room for us to grow. It meets us in our joys and in our struggles, reminding us that we are known and cherished by God.
When we say, “We believe God is love,” we are also saying something about who we are called to be. As followers of Christ, we are invited to reflect God’s love by creating a community where people are welcomed, known, and encouraged to grow. Through worship, friendship, service, and shared life, we help one another move from simply attending to truly belonging.
Love is not simply something we receive. It is something we practice.

We believe God loves us all.
God’s love is not limited by age, background, circumstance, or accomplishment.
It reaches beyond the boundaries we often create and reminds us that every person is created in the image of God and worthy of dignity, grace, and belonging.
This belief shapes the way we welcome others. It challenges us to look beyond first impressions, assumptions, and differences. It calls us to create a community where people know they are seen, valued, and loved.
At Bee Creek, we strive to be a place where all people can encounter God’s grace and discover that they belong.
As we grow together, we continue learning how to extend the same hospitality and compassion that God first extends to us.

We believe worship doesn’t have to be boring.
Worship is one of the ways we encounter the living God.
It invites us to pause, to remember who we are, and to reconnect with what matters most. Worship can challenge us, comfort us, inspire us, and sometimes even surprise us.
At Bee Creek, we believe worship should engage both heart and mind. Through music, prayer, scripture, teaching, silence, and celebration, we seek to create experiences that are meaningful, authentic, and alive.
Worship is not something we watch. It is something we participate in together.
When we gather, we bring our whole selves before God, trusting that the Spirit continues to meet us and transform us.

We believe that children matter.
Children are not the future of the church. They are part of the church today.
Jesus welcomed children, listened to them, blessed them, and placed them at the center of the community’s attention. He saw their value and reminded others to do the same.
At Bee Creek, we believe children deserve to be known, nurtured, heard, and loved. Through worship, learning, play, and relationships, we help children discover that they belong to God and to this community.
We also recognize that children have much to teach us. Their curiosity, honesty, wonder, and trust can deepen the faith of the entire congregation.
When children flourish, the whole church flourishes.

We believe youth lead.
Young people are not simply preparing for leadership someday. They are called to lead today.
Throughout scripture, God often works through those whom others overlook. Young people bring energy, creativity, courage, and fresh perspectives that help the church see new possibilities.
At Bee Creek, we believe youth have gifts to share, wisdom to offer, and an important role to play in the life of our congregation. We create opportunities for students to serve, lead, and participate fully in the mission of the church.
When young people are trusted and encouraged, they grow in faith and confidence. The church grows as well.
By making room for youth leadership, we invest not only in the future of the church, but in the church of today.

We believe that we all need good friends.
Faith was never meant to be lived alone.
God created us for relationship—with God, with one another, and with the communities in which we live. Through friendship, we find encouragement, support, accountability, laughter, and belonging.
At Bee Creek, many of the most meaningful moments happen beyond Sunday morning. They happen around tables, in small groups, on retreats, in Bible studies, on pickleball courts, in service projects, and in everyday conversations.
Good friends help us celebrate life’s joys and carry life’s burdens. They remind us that we are not alone and that we are part of something larger than ourselves.
When people find genuine connection, communities grow stronger and faith grows deeper.

We believe we can change the world.
Throughout history, God has worked through ordinary people to bring hope, healing, and transformation.
We believe that small acts of faithfulness matter. A meal shared, a child encouraged, a neighbor welcomed, a burden lifted—these moments become part of God’s work in the world.
At Bee Creek, we see this belief lived out through the Farmacy Garden, partnerships with Helping Hand and Partners in Hope, support groups, disaster response efforts, and countless acts of compassion and service.
We may not solve every problem. But together, guided by God’s Spirit, we can make a meaningful difference.
The world changes when people choose to love, serve, and care for one another.

We believe God is still speaking.
Listening requires patience and humility. It asks us to set aside assumptions, pay attention, and remain open to where God may be leading.
Like a gardener tending what has already been planted, we do not create growth on our own. We prepare the soil, pay attention to what is emerging, and trust God to bring forth new life in God’s time.
Holy Conversations begins with this belief. We trust that God is not finished with us. God is still shaping our church, our community, and our future.
As we listen together, we seek not simply our own ideas, but God’s imagination for what comes next.

We believe this is only the beginning.
What has been named here is not complete. It is part of a larger unfolding—one that continues in conversation, in reflection, and in the life we share together.
Some things may feel clear. Others may not. That, too, is part of the process.
As we have reflected on these beliefs, we have remembered who we are. We have celebrated the ways God has been at work among us. And we have begun listening for where God may be leading us next.
Like a garden, not everything grows at the same pace. Some seeds take root quickly. Others require more time, more tending, and more patience. What matters is not that everything is resolved, but that we remain attentive to what is taking shape.
This work continues beyond these pages—in the conversations you will have, in the questions you will carry, and in the ways you listen more closely to God, to one another, and to our community.
We trust that God is still at work—in what has been spoken, in what has been heard, and even in what has not yet found words.

And so we go forward—open, present, and attentive to what is being revealed.
