David Payne is the founding pastor of Bee Creek UMC. The appointment to begin this church in June, 2002 was his second appointment in the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. David is married to Lori and has two daughters, Sydney and Haley.
David received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989 from the University of Northern Colorado in Physical Education. He worked for five years as a Physical Education teacher and basketball coach. In 1992, David began a part time position with Harlingen First United Methodist Church as the Youth and Program Director. This position became a full time position and David decided to pursue the full time ministry as his vocation.
David attended Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, and graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 1998. His first full time appointment was at the Los Fresnos United Methodist Church in the Rio Grande Valley.
"God is so good! I believe it is a miracle that He was willing to accept me into His Kingdom, despite my mistakes and my constant struggles. Even greater, it is a miracle that He has chosen to include me in His Kingdom plans. Here at BCUMC we have seen God’s mighty hand and His gentle grace. I feel fortunate and blessed to be a part of it."

LAY MINISTRY COORDINATOR, CARLY SCHNEIDER Born in Philadelphia, Carly has lived in various places all over the country but finally settled in Austin after graduating from Stanford University with a BA in English and Feminist Studies and an MA in English Literature. A longtime atheist, Carly started attending BCUMC (kicking and screaming) when her parents became members in 2004. Eventually, the phenomenal preaching and loving community brought her back into relationship with God, and she couldn’t be more grateful! Once fully committed to Christ and to the church, Carly began serving in several areas of the church. In the summer of 2006 she became the point person for the small groups ministry and helped BCUMC launch its small groups church-wide in February of 2007. Since taking on the position of Lay Ministry Director in March of 2007, Carly has worked to transition the office to a new church management software. She also handles the scheduling for the Children’s Ministries and runs the small group ministry, BELONG @ BCUMC. When she’s not at church, Carly spends her time reading, sleeping, and playing with her dog, Devo.

YOUTH DIRECTOR, JASON RAILEY We are pleased to have Jason Railey as our Youth Director. Jason and his wife Sarah have bee active members in BCUMC since 2006. Jason received his Bachelors of Business in Markieting from Texas A&M University. He also holds a Bible Certificate from Columbia International University.
Jason is pleased to be able to serve God At BCUMC in the Youth Program. When he's not a church he works at AMD as a Worldwide Public Sector Sales and Marketing Manager. In addition to being a self-proclaimed music snob, Jason enjoys playing the guitar, riding mountain bikes, snowboarding, and playing golf poorly.
