OUTREACH

We take seriously Jesus’ command to “love our neighbor as ourselves.” Therefore, we have a number of ways that we reach out to our community. These ministries and programs are always growing, but here are the areas we are currently involved in:

Lake Travis Crisis Center – we provide monthly financial support to the Crisis Center for the purchase of non-food items. Our average yearly contribution is over $4,000. Of course if you would like to volunteer, there are opportunities for this as well.

LaSenda Children’s Home, Guatemala – we send monthly financial support to this orphanage in Guatemala of $500. We had a Mission Group go to Guatemala to spend a week working at the LaSenda Home in June 2007 and they are planning another trip in 2008.

Lake Travis Medical Clinic – we along with many other Lake Travis area churches, provide financial support to the Medical Clinic.

Church Under the Bridge – Three times a year, we send a team of folks to work with this ongoing ministry to the homeless in Austin. Volunteers visit with the folks and serve meals.

Holiday Helps – We provide financial support for members of our community each year to help them with past-due bills. We also provide food baskets for Thanksgiving.

Special Needs – We are always looking for ways to help in emergency situations. In 2005 we made significant contributions to Hurricane Relief Efforts.
We had a Mission Group go to Slidell, Lousiana at the end of February 2007 to aid in rebuilding and another trip is being planned for late October 2007.  Please call the church office if you are interested.

Helping Hands Spicewood Crisis Ministry – We are proud to be a part of a new Crisis Ministry in the Spicewood area.  Each Tuesday evening the Ministry is open to distribute food, provide crisis counseling and help with crisis needs.  Volunteers are always welcome and encouraged to participate.
