HISTORY

Founding pastor, David E. Payne, was appointed in June, 2002 to the Spicewood area to start a church for the Austin District of the Southwest Texas United Methodist Conference. Beginning with a small group of 20 people, BCUMC has enjoyed rapid growth and development through the efforts of talented and dedicated members and the awesome grace of God.

We held our first public service on Palm Sunday, April 19, 2003. On September 28, 2003 we were chartered as an official United Methodist Congregation with 137 members. Following a generous donation of land to the church, we began planning construction of our first building. We have held services in, the Briarcliff Community Center, at the Resort Ranch Clubhouse, and at the Bee Creek Art Gallery on the corner of Bee Creek Road and R.O. Drive in Spicewood.

On October 15, 2006, we moved into our first permanent facilities at 3000 Bee Creek Road.  This provides us with a "home" in which we can further our ministry to our community and world.  We continue to see rapid growth of our congregation and of our influence in ministry on behalf of Jesus Christ.

As we move into the future we are excited about what God has in store for us.
